Pre-Kick-off meeting

On 20 December, the consortium of the new project 3D4DEAF:"Promoting digital transformation and social innovation in VET for better access of deaf students to the labor market" held a remote pre-kick-off meeting. The meeting was an opportunity to get to know the Partners and their activities. Tasks for the coming weeks were also planned and issues of dissemination of project results and management were discussed.

Online meeting in January 2023

On 16 January, the consortium met online to discuss the next tasks in the project. Currently, the partners are working on a national report on the situation of deaf people in education and on the labor market. The conclusions of the report will form the basis for further activities. In February, the partners will meet in person in Turin for the kick-off meeting.

20-21 February 2023

The consortium met face to face for the first time near Turin, hosted by IST in late February 2023. The two days meeting set the stage for a fruitful collaboration among the partners. The work packages were discussed, tasks allocated and next steps planned for the sake of 3D4DEAF success.

Online meeting in March 2023

On 28 of March, the consortium met to summarize the progress of the project. Focus groups will soon be held in all partner countries with VET students with hearing loss, as well as teachers and entrepreneurs working with them. Conclusions from the study, as well as statements from national reports prepared by partners in the previous stage of the project, will be the basis for further work. Traditionally, current administrative issues and the dissemination of project results were also discussed at the meeting.

On the 28th of April 2023, the consortium organised a virtual meeting. The responsible partner updated the consortium regarding the WP2 progress. All partners developed the national reports and now partners are hosting the focus groups to consult the report findings with VET students, teachers and entrepreneurs. Tasks for the coming weeks were also planned and issues of dissemination of project results and management were discussed.

The WP2: European Monitoring Report & 3D4DEAF Dual Training Pack progress was analysed during the consortium online meeting on the 26th of June. Besides focus groups with VET teachers, students and entrepreneurs working with the deaf, partners are preparing the guidebook with tips that practically support the effective transitioning of people with hearing impairments in the labour market.

Online meeting in June 2023

On the 26th of June, project consortium met online to discuss the next tasks in the project. The focal point of the meeting was the progress of WP2: European Monitoring Report & 3D4DEAF Dual Training Pack. Partners conducted extensive desk and field research. Its results will be presented in the form of infographics. To support VET teachers, students and entrepreneurs, the practical guidebook will be followed by videos with sign language interpretation. As always, the partners discussed ongoing issues and discussed dissemination and quality assurance of the project implementation.

On the 26th of July, the consortium held the last online meeting before the summer break. The extensive progress of WP2 resulted in developing the materials to support VET teachers, students and entrepreneurs. partners will meet again after the holiday period to move on with efforts to support the deaf community in entering the labour market.

The 3D4DEAF team is back from their summer vacation. In their virtual meeting, they have reviewed the project's progress, tasks, and activities to be carried out for the next month. As always, the partners discussed ongoing issues and discussed dissemination and quality assurance of the project implementation.

Project consortium met online once again on 3 October 2023 to discuss the progress of the project and plan the next tasks. The partners are currently conducting study visits to present all the work and materials developed up to the current point of work package 2 and to collect feedback and suggestions from experts and members of the target groups and to finalise the learning materials in the training package. Instructional videos will soon be made available on the project's YouTube channel, providing guidance for VET students and teachers, as well as for entrepreneurs to support effective transitioning of people with hearing impairments in the labour market. As always, the meeting also discussed upcoming tasks related to quality assurance, dissemination of project results and ongoing management.

On 13 November, the partners, in a monthly online meeting, summarized current activities and planned the next steps for the project. All partners conducted study visits to present all the work and materials developed up to the current point of work package 2 and to collect feedback and suggestions from experts and members of the target groups. Findings from study visits will be the basis for drafting the Comparative INDEX document. Moving on, partners are developing the learning materials in the training package.During the meeting, the partners also discussed the organisation of the training activities planned in Cyprus for June 2024 and explored issues related to the dissemination and overall management of this very ambitious project.

Before the end of the year, partners organised on 14th of December the online meeting. The discussion focused on summarizing current activities and planning the next steps for the project. partners are finishing the peer review of learning materials. Also, the Methodology for guiding schools in introducing the programme was developed. Next month, partners will have virtually the 2nd transnational project meeting. 2nd Transnational Project Meeting in January 2024

On the 31st of January 2024, the consortium organised virtually the 2nd transnational project meeting. During the TPM2, partners finalised all the pending tasks of the WP2 (dual educational pack for VET teachers and deaf students). This was followed by an in depth analysis of the Platform and Mobile App, product of WP3: the tasks were allocated and the deadlines scheduled to ensure a smooth continuation of 3D4DEAF! Before saying goodbye, partners finalised the organisation of the C1 activities planned in Cyprus for June 2024 and checked the dissemination and overall management of this very ambitious project.

On 16 February, partners met again to discuss current tasks and activities. The main efforts of the consortium are currently focused on the development of an e-learning platform. The partners are collecting good practices from their partner countries and success stories of social entrepreneurs/employees/entrepreneurs with hearing impairments working in Industry 4.0. In addition to the learning materials developed as a result of the earlier work, the platform will also include a glossary of terms and terminology and a networking tools. During the meeting, the partners also discussed the organisation of the training activities planned in Cyprus for June 2024 and explored issues related to the dissemination and overall management of this very ambitious project.

On 19 March, the partners met to discuss current tasks and activities. The consortium's activities are currently focused on the ongoing development of the e-learning platform. The partners continue to work on translations of training packages and teacher guides. Additionally, the partners are in the process of collecting success stories of social entrepreneurs/employees/entrepreneurs with hearing disabilities working in Industry 4.0. The partners also discussed the organization of upcoming events and conferences relevant to the development of knowledge, awareness and skills of deaf/hard of hearing people. During the meeting, partners also discussed the organization of training activities planned for Cyprus in June 2024. Traditionally, issues of dissemination and overall project management were also examined.

On 16 April, the partners, in a monthly online meeting, summarized current activities and planned the next steps for the project. The main topic of the meeting was the organization of a training course in Cyprus in June 2024. The partners discussed the agenda for the training activities in detail and also addressed the specifics of the workshop presentations, in particular the theoretical and practical parts of the course, to ensure that all topics would be presented during the C1 training. In addition, the partners discussed ongoing tasks, referring to current results that are nearing finalization. The consortium is in the progress of developing a Cloud-Based Platform and Mobile App, which will include tools such as Mapping Tool, e-Calendar, Story Map, etc. The main aim of the development of these tools is to change and impact in VET education transnationally to foster innovations and possibilities for people with hearing impairments to upgrade their digital and social entrepreneurial skills enabling a more labour inclusive future. Traditionally, partners discussed current issues of project management, quality assurance and dissemination of work packages.During the meeting, the partners also discussed the organisation of the training activities planned in Cyprus for June 2024 and explored issues related to the dissemination and overall management of this very ambitious project.

On 21st May 2024, partners met again to discuss current tasks and activities. The consortium is finalizing outcome 2 of the project. All training materials are now available on the project website. The partners have completed the final document 'Methodology for the implementation of the 3D4DEAF programme'. The document will soon be translated into all national languages of the partners. The partners also briefly summarized the work on Outcome 3. The cloud-based platform and the mobile app are being continuously developed by our technicians. The consortium also addressed the topic of outcome 4 and planned the next steps to decide how the work on the game and the production of the digital tools will be carried out, as well as the organization of workshops for VET trainers and hearing impairment/deafness. As always, the partners discussed ongoing issues and discussed dissemination and quality assurance of the project implementation.

On 6th September, 3D4Deaf project consortium held its first online meeting after the summer break. It was a productive session where a new team member was presented then partners reviewed completed tasks and laid out plans for the upcoming months. In October, the discussion revolved around the implementation of national translations for the 3D4DEAF platform, as well as the finalization of the mobile application. The guidelines for the Pitching Competition were introduced, and preparations for the dissemination of results were outlined. The Final TPM & Conference dates were set for April 7-8, 2025

The December session provided a comprehensive update on all work packages. The dual educational pack and methodology for guiding schools were officially completed. Key updates were shared on the interactive e-learning platform, which now includes a video user manual. Plans for Final Conferences in each partner country were also discussed

The Guidebook and Social Hubs Methodology were successfully translated and prepared for publication on the project website. Online Coordination Meeting in February 2025

On 24th February 2025, the consortium convened for an online coordination meeting to review the project’s progress and define the next steps.

Key points discussed included:

  • Project Management and Reporting: The third interim report was reviewed, and deadlines were set for the fourth financial reporting period. Partners were reminded to submit missing documents to ensure smooth administrative processing.
  • Platform Development (WP3): The development of the 3D4DEAF Open Cloud-Based & Interactive E-learning Platform has progressed significantly. Core components such as the mapping tool, story-map, glossary, calendar, e-courses, and assessment tools have been finalized. The platform is now available in all partner languages.
  • Social Innovation and VET Training (WP4): Major deliverables, including the Guidebook on establishing a social enterprise, the AR learning game, and the in-service training for VET trainers, have been completed. Ongoing activities include national workshops under the 3D4DEAF@Social Hubs initiative.
  • Dissemination and Visibility: Social media dissemination plans were scheduled, and the creation of the 3D4DEAF Action Plan was highlighted as a key contribution toward inclusive and effective VET environments for students with hearing impairments.
  • Final Conference Planning: The final Transnational Project Meeting and Conference are scheduled for 7–8 April 2025. National final conferences will also be held across all partner countries to showcase project results, engage stakeholders, and launch the Challenge Competition promoting 3D skills among deaf learners.

The meeting concluded with renewed commitment from all partners to ensure the successful completion of the remaining activities and the sustainability of project outcomes beyond its official duration.

Final Preparations Underway; Online Meeting of the 3D4DEAF Project Consortium

On 31st March 2025, the partners of the 3D4DEAF project convened for a conclusive online meeting to align on final actions before the project’s closure. The meeting focused on the preparation of the Final Transnational Project Meeting (TPM) and the Final Conference, both scheduled to take place in Warsaw, Poland, on 7–8 April 2025.

With the project nearing its official conclusion, this meeting marked a pivotal moment for partners to reaffirm their shared commitment to the project's goals and sustainability. The discussion centred on ensuring the successful delivery of the final international events and national-level dissemination.

One of the central outcomes of the meeting was the official approval of the guidelines for the national final conferences. As outlined in the project proposal, a dedicated final conference will be organised in each partner country throughout April 2025, the final month of the project’s lifetime.

These national conferences will serve several key purposes:

  • Presentation of Project Results: Each partner will showcase outputs developed during the project, including the 3D4DEAF e-learning platform, training materials, and the Action Plan for inclusive VET.
  • Engagement of Stakeholders: VET providers, public authorities, civil society, and the deaf community will be invited to participate, ensuring broad dissemination and potential future adoption of the results.
  • Memorandum of Commitment and Exhibition: These activities aim to ensure long-term impact and visibility, promoting integration of the project tools into national educational systems.

With consensus reached on organisational logistics and documentation standards, partners are now fully engaged in final preparations. The consortium reaffirmed its intention to ensure that the legacy of the project extends well beyond its formal end.

On 7 April 2025, the Final International Meeting of the 3D4DEAF - Promoting Digital Transformation and Social Innovation in VET for Better Access of Deaf Students to the Labor Market project took place in Warsaw, Poland. During the meeting, the partners reviewed the project activities to date, including management, the outputs developed (such as an e-learning platform, a mobile app or an augmented reality game), as well as dissemination and quality monitoring strategies. Further stages of the project and the distribution of tasks between partners were also discussed. Particular attention was paid to planning the implementation and testing of key results that aim to increase the accessibility of vocational education for deaf people and to promote their activity in the labour market. Partners also focused on activities related to promotion, sustainability of the results and the long-term impact of the project in educational and vocational settings.
